[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [1] How to add PC games (windows) in RetroBat ?

Right click and select "copy" on the executable (*.exe) of your PC games, and make "paste shortcuts" in folder "roms/windows/"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 47WNq9D

- You can also, for games that don't use launcher (Steam, Epic Game Store etc..) place the folder of your game directly on the \roms\windows\ directory, then rename the game folder with extension .win or .pc at the end.

For exemple:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] R81q6pa

become :

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] P8JLCmQ
or
 [FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] E9sX35g

Mostly, Retrobat will detect the *.exe available inside the game folder, and will start it.

/!\ It can also happen that some games got different executable, and that isn't the right one that start...

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [6] How to add games on SCUMMVM Retrobat ?

/!\ These first steps are optional  /!\
(They are mainly used to configure the core interface)

-
Go to Retroarch options like this:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 110

and select "RETROARCH"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 211

and go to "Load Core"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 310

and select "ScummVM"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 410

and "Start Core"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 510

you see this gui:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 810

Clic on "Add Games" and select your ScummVM games to install them.

After the games are installed on ScummVM core, quit the core and Retroarch, and go to your "/roms/scummvm" folder.

/!\ end of optional steps /!\

Your scummvm games must be in separate folders, in the "/roms/scummvm" folder.

- You must display the extensions under windows, like that on windows 10:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Help111

And in each games folder, create a .txt file with the name of the game, for example The Curse of Monkey Island.txt for The Curse of Monkey Island... Rolling Eyes

In each txt file, insert the id of the corresponding game, which you will find on https://www.scummvm.org/compatibility/2.7.0/

Example, for "The Curse of Monkey Island", inside The Curse of Monkey Island.txt, insert comi

Like that:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] IoELzpJ

! Take care : there should be no space nor return to the line after the text.

And to finish, rename the *.txt files into *.scummvm file, for example:

The Curse of Monkey Island.txt  ==> The Curse of Monkey Island.scummvm

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [7] How to add PS3 game on Retrobat ?

To add a PS3 game, in first you must have configured the RPCS3 emulator located in the "\emulators\rpcs3" folder.

There is a lot of tutorials to do it on the net, for installing the PS3 firmware (legally available HERE) and games, please do not ask for links for these files... Mad

You must install your games, in the \emulators\rpcs3\dev_hdd0\disc folder for games in disk format, and \emulators\rpcs3\dev_hdd0\game for dematerialized games.
And once the emulator is configured and you have added your games from the "Install package" or/and "Add games" menu of the emulator, AND THEY WORK DIRECTLY FROM THE EMULATOR, run BatGui.exe which is located at the root of your Retrobat installation folder.

Go to the tab "M3u contructor"

Click on "Scan"

BatGui V4 & 5
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 0vj3z3L

BatGui V6:
BatGui V6:
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] SlKVVG0

Then you should see, on the right column, the list of your PS3 games, previously installed on the RPCS3 emulator:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] MwUsxqN

Check the boxes games you want to add, then give them a name instead of "Click here to edit game name" (no special characters allowed there)
Then click on "Generate M3U"

The "M3u Contructor" will automatically generate .m3u files directly in the "\roms\ps3" folder:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] ERf25vW

You can now launch your PS3 games from RetroBat! affraid

Do not forget the settings in the emulator:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Frjj2kY

Since version 5.3.0 of Retrobat it is possible to launch your PS3 games more simply by placing the game folder in \roms\ps3

The game folder must have the extension .ps3

This function does not always work, depending on the type of game version, that's why the method with the .m3u file always works.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [9] How and why to deactivate the automatic configuration of controllers ?

In some cases, it could be possible that your controller is not compatible with the controller auto configuration system, due to the fact that the SDL2 library doesn't recognize (or recognize badly) your controller.

This system allow you to configure your controllers in EmulationStation and it will be also configured for RetroArch and for some other emulators available in RetroBat (RetroArch, Dolphin...).

If your controller is concerned, then you need to disable the auto configuration and configure manually the inputs for earch emulators.

( This is why we recommend using controllers that work in X-input. You can test your controller to find out if it's X-input compatible, by going to this SITE. In case your controller is not X-input compatible, and if you are having difficulty, you can use the X360ce v4.XX application which allows you to pass your controller off as an Xbox 360 controller.)

Open the main menu and go to SYSTEM SETTINGS
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 17ctYnr

then DEVELOPER
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 2EwAhuH

and uncheck AUTOCONFIGURE EMULATORS CONTROLLERS.
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] YRAJB9i

Then go to the RETROBAT menu to configure each emulator.
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] VwiV52T

For some emulators or game engines you will need to go directly in their respective folders, presents in the "./emulators" folder.

Since version 4.0 of Retrobat, it's possible to deactivate the auto-configuration of the controllers only on a particular system or game.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [10] What does "AUTO" correspond in the emulators list ?

When you want to choose a different emulator or core to run your games, (see point n° 5 ) in the list there is "AUTO"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] LNZbQJM

AUTO corresponds to the 1st of the list of cores/emulators.

In the case of the example above, AUTO therefore corresponds to "ANGLE / DOLPHIN"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [11] How to hide one or more extensions ?

Depending on the emulator or Core you are using, some extensions don't need to be displayed in the gamelist.

To hide them, select and enter in the wanted system (here Super-Nintendo), and press "backspace" on the keyboard or "Select" on your Gamepad.

- This menu appears:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [12] How to access the Retroarch menu?

For whatever reason, you may need to access the Retroarch menu (for systems that use Retroarch ... Laughing ), mostly to change settings.

For example , to create controller configuration for a specific game or system.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] C7CD9BJ

- From "RetroBat" menu in the systems list.

Or

- By launching a game from Retrobat, and when the game is running, with a controller, use hotkey + A if you are using Nintendo controllers (like Snes, Wi , WiiU and Switch gamepads) or B if you are usine Xbox controllers and ROUND if you are using Playstation controllers.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [13] How do I create a specific controller configuration in Retroarch ?

If the configuration of the buttons does not suit you for a game or a system managed by Retroarch, it's possible to make a specific one.

As explained in question n°12, access the menu of Retroarch then select " QUICK MENU "

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] HiJ66mI

- Then, further down in the QUICK MENU list, you will find " Controls "

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 8jpwjmZ

In this menu you can configure several controllers, and then assign the new configuration by saving either:

  • For the current game only.
  • For games found in the same folder as the current game.
  • For the current Core ( /!\ be careful ! many systems can use the same Core)

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] K78mZCY

This new configuration is used at the time the game is running and take the priority over the default configuration of Retroarch.[/b]

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [14] Is my PC 64 bit? ?

To run Retrobat on your computer, your PC must be running, as specified on the site's home page, on Windows 7*, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 and must be 64 Bits.

To find out, on Windows 8.1 and 10, right-click on the Windows logo at the bottom left, and select "System"

A window opens and you will know if your PC has a 64Bits processor and if you are using a 64bits version of Windows.

For Windows 10:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [15] Why there is sound on EmulationStation but not in games ?

You have just installed Retrobat V5 or superior, you have your roms in the corresponding folders, the sound is present in the game selection interface (EmulationStation),
but when you launch a game managed by a Retroarch Core, there is no sound. wtf??  Crying or Very sad

There's a chance that you haven't DirectX installed properly.

Download and install it HERE .

Since Retrobat V6, if you do a new installation, the setup will install the prerequisites, including Direct-X 9, necessary for the proper use of Retrobat.

If after the installation, you still have no sound, proceed like this

- Then

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] TMXeJ4U

- Then

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] EuM8jay

- Then you can test different audio drivers one by one, until you find the right one when you get sound during games. The "dsound" driver usually works fine.

When you launch Future Pinball (fpinball), an error message like the one displayed on the picture below can show up.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] UjD7GIy

To solve the problem, you need to launch Future Pinball as administrator once only.

So, go to the "fpinball" folder in the "emulators" folder at the root of your Retrobat installation folder.

Then right-click on the Future Pinball executable "Future Pinball.exe" and, as showed on the picture, select "Run as administrator"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [18] How to add XBLA games (XBOX360) on Retrobat?

Xbox360 XBLA games (XBox Live Arcade) are presented in the form of a succession of several folders, which end in a file that has no extension.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Crn5h50

On this example, the XBLA game, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, you can see the path: "CastlevaniaSymphonyoftheNight\58410847\000D0000"

Which leads to the game file named "9F2DAA064D494AA82B43B65362C59E9B89A88F8F58"

So that Retrobat can launch the game, you must create a *.m3u file to be placed at the root of the "\roms\xbox360" folder.

Batgui v4 & 5
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] PWHszi9

Batgui V6:
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] KzQZ9l8

Click on "Scan"

And BatGui will detect all the games present in your "\roms\xbox360" folder:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] SkHWrT7

Check the box of the game(s) you want to add, rename it if necessary, and click on "Generate M3U" and the .m3u file will be
automatically created and placed in the "\roms\xbox360" folder.

It will then be visible in the Retrobat interface.

Thumb up

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [19] Why configuration of the emulators have to be done from RETROBAT ?

This is a question that comes very often.

This entry could be named also "Why are my settings withdrawn when I start Retrobat ?"

In the first Retrobat versions, that were not so evolved, it was necessary to start emulators from the "Retrobat" system menu in order to configure emulators and cores.

But since the version 4.0 of Retrobat, we have started a huge change of direction :

Add the possibility to make all settings, for Retroarch cores and standalone emulators, directly from within Retrobat.

For that, Retrobat will write directly into the emulator settings files, based on the values chosen by the user in the RetroBat menu.

In this way, it's possible to make a per-system configuration, and even a per-game configuration if required.

For exemple, if a game does not start with a given emulator, or if a special option isn't activated, with this new handling method it's possible to proceed with the change only for this game, without touching the whole system.

To create a per-system configuration, you have to go in the system GameList View, then press the DELETE key of your keyboard, or the SELECT (BACK) button on your gamepad, and go to

"ADVANCED SYSTEM OPTIONS", then validate.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] HYH5H9Z

You can access differents settings from there (Emulator, resolution, sound, decorations etc..), options will be different depending on the emulator or core that is selected:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] UGuBKkf

Here, for example, you can choose a different emulator than the one defined per default :

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] N7Rl9so

All settings done from this menu will apply for all system games.

EXCEPT if you want to do some settings changes for one game only !!

For this, it is as simple as selecting the game from the game list, and holding the "south" button of your gamepad :

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 1bMX6yK

This menu will appear on the side (here as exemple with the Carbon default theme):

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] NdGLCVd

Then go to "ADVANCED GAME OPTIONS" and validate.

You will get access to the same options as in the "ADVANCED SYSTEM OPTIONS" menu, but the settings will only be applied to this game.

Adding options/settings to an emulator or a core to make them available within RetroBat menu is a long and complex task.

With each new RetroBat version we add some new features, either based on our internal testing or mostly based on your feedback and knowledge, which you are sharing with us.

We only add the features that seem to be the most relevant, but if you consider that an important feature isn't currently available in Retrobat, tell us via the forum or Discord, so that we can add it in the next Retrobat update.

In-between, if an option isn't available, you can still enable it or disable it (and only this option) directly from within the emulator, which can be launched from the Retrobat system menu, or while the game is running in the "in-game" menu of Retroarch (ndlr : see Retrobat manuel) or of the standalone emulator.
For some emulators, it's not possible to add the features directly in the Retrobat menu (because the way they are working doesn't allow to do so), but it will still be possible from the Retrobat system menu.

"Tom & Jerry Popper (LCD Card Game)"
"Towering Rescue (LCD Card Game)"
"Tron"
"Turtle Bridge (Wide Screen)"
"Wild Man Jump (Electronic Tini-Arcade)"

-----------------------------------
/!\Attention, since Retrobat V 5.0, LCD games (excluding Game & Watch) have a dedicated system, named LCDGAMES, so you can put your roms directly in the \roms\lcdgames folder
The rest of this tutorial therefore only concerns versions of Retrobat prior to V5.0, so update your Retrobat Wink

The part of this tutorial concerning the artworks is still valid on version 5.0 and higher.[/color]
-----------------------------------

But many liquid crystal electronic games are not supported by this core.

To make them work you must use the core "MAME (current)"

These games need 2 different files, a file of type "rom" and a file of type "artwork " to work.

You must place the rom file in .zip format in the same folder as other Game & Watch games: "\roms\gameandwatch"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] ALEygG9

And the artwork files which have exactly the same name as the roms (also .zip format), must be placed in the "\bios\mame\artwork" folder.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] H39e9W9

Then launch Retrobat and go to the Game & Watch system:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 7YMp2uz

Select a game which does not work with the "Handheld Electronic (GW)" core (a game not present in the list above).

Hold the LAUNCH button until the following menu appears and choose "ADVANCED GAME OPTION":

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] CJKPYcR[/b]

And on the "EMULATORS" menu select "LIBRETRO / MAME"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] JVWJOzd

You need to do the same for all "Game & Watch", "Tiger" or any other electronic games that do not work with the "Handheld Electronic (GW)" ("LIBRETRO / GW") core.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [21] How to add the KODI media center to RetroBat?

It's possible to launch the KODI media player from Retrobat.

For it to be accessible from the EmulationStation menu, you must install it from the setup available on the official website www.kodi.tv go to "DOWNLOAD"

and select "INSTALLER 64Bits"

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] IB1QKrV

Once the installation file is installed, you have 2 possibilities.

Either perform a classic installation in the default directory offered by the Kodi installer:
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 0iPFcT7

Or choose the \kodi folder which is at the root of your Retrobat installation folder which will make Kodi portable:

Then launch Retrobat, and go to "SYSTEM SETTINGS".

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] R5mUGI8

And now you should have access to the "KODI SETTINGS" option:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [23] How to add Teknoparrot games?

To add Teknoparrot games, you must first download the Teknoparrot "emulator" from its official website (and not elsewhere): https://teknoparrot.com/

Then, unzip the file you just downloaded in \emulators\teknoparrot

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] FAk6RTy

- Your antivirus will surely panic, keep cool, these are false positives, so make sure that your antivirus authorizes the detected files.

- When launching the TeknoParrotUi.exe for the first time, it will most certainly ask for several updates (do them, all).

- Put your Teknoparrot games in \roms\teknoparrot.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] XSMXZNX

The folders name of your Teknoparrot games must be renamed to .teknoparrot .parrot or .game

For example, the game folder of Mario Kart: Arcade GP DX must be renamed Mario Kart Arcade GP DX.teknoparrot , Mario Kart Arcade GP DX.parrot or Mario Kart Arcade GP DX.game

Important detail, the folders names must correspond to the names of the "GameName" (without special characters [FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 584DwC5) present in this * .xml that
you will find in the folder \emulators\teknoparrot\GameProfiles or here: https://github.com/teknogods/TeknoParrotUI/tree/master/TeknoParrotUi.Common/GameProfiles

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] WKid67O

Now launch Retrobat and your games should appear in the "Teknoparrot" system.

NB: Recently, Teknoparrot has changed its file systems, which affects the correct integration of games in Retrobat.
Also, and until the correction is made with Retrobat V5, we advise you to use an earlier version of Teknoparrot.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [24] How to add FM-towns games?

For FM-Towns, Bios files is needed, put in \bios\fmtownsux

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] O530rVZ

Your games folder, for CD games, with .cue inside, need to be renamed .game or .cd

For example, Super Street Fighter II folder renamed:

Super Street Fighter II.game or Super Street Fighter II.cd

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] WsunOFc

This configuration is valid if you are using the Tsugaru emulator, but if you are using MAME, your CD games folders should not be renamed to .game or .cd.

Games in *.iso format must be placed at the root of the roms /fmtowns folder

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [25] How to add Daphne games?

Daphne games consist of 2 parts, a folder containing the videos, *.dat and *.txt files of the games, and another roms file, in .zip

To add Daphne games, your games folders must be placed in "\roms\daphne" folder by adding .daphne at the end.

For example, your game folder "ace" must be renamed to ace.daphne

The structure of your games should look like this:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] SmUAOYl

The .zip files of your roms must be in the "\roms\daphne\roms" folder.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Yos0hDr

/!\ To work properly, the retrobat install folder name should not have spaces.

Since the V5 version of Retrobat, the emulator Hypseus Singe has been added. This give the possibility to play more games.

But a short modification have to be done on Windows settings to allow Hypseus to work, for that you have to activate the developper mode.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [26]Why my games not launching?

Retrobat runs on Windows, not everyone has the same Windows (7, 8, 8.1 or 10 ...). and unlike other distributions that run on a Raspberri Pi (for example), not everyone has the same hardware (processor, graphics card, ram etc.)

On some systems, your hardware may not be compatible with the basic video driver.

This is often the case with the Flycast core, which manages the Dreamcast, Naomi and Atomiswave games, so the games do not launch.

Note that other systems may be affected.

On a basic installation the video driver is set to "Vulkan"

To choose another, from the "EmulationStation" interface, on a particular system, go to:

MAIN MENU -> GAME SETTINGSand
ADVANCED SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
- Select the system you want to modify:
- And on the "VIDEO DRIVER" line, select another driver.
Then try to start a game.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] RkntL0B

If it still does not launch, try another video driver until your game starts.

In certain case, le SDL2 library can also create troubles for game starts

The most used scraper and which is by default on Retrobat is Screenscraper. ( https://www.screenscraper.fr )

Is database for console games, computers etc ... is huge, but for Windows PC games is really very low.

At the time of writing this FAQ, there are only 74:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [28] I have a message when launching Retrobat about UAC, why?

You try to run Retrobat.exe but you get this message:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] BtCpUnr

User Account Control (UAC) is a protection mechanism introduced on Windows since Windows Vista.

Although not recommended, you can completely disable UAC on your computer at your own risk.

It may be necessary to deactivate it, for reasons of comfort, to avoid having a confirmation request on certain games that require higher privileges to work, for example: Mario Kart DX on the Teknoparrot system.

This is why we advise you to deactivate it only if your PC is not connected to the internet.

But if you get this message, it's not because you have UAC disabled, but because you are trying to run Retrobat.exe in administrator mode.

Either you right-clicked on Retrobat.exe and you chose "[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] GA0CdsgRun as administrator" or you are logged in under Windows on a "Super administrator" account, which automatically launches all applications as administrator.

For obvious security reasons, we do not allow Retrobat to run as an administrator.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [30] How to add SWITCH, Yuzu and RyujinX emulators?

To add the Nintendo Switch emulators, "Yuzu" and "RyujinX", which are not included in Retrobat, you must download these emulators from their respective websites.
Then install them on your computer and move the contents of the installation folders to the \emulators folder of your Retrobat installation.

/!\ This little tutorial is not made to explain how to configure and add the firmware/bios and other keys needed to use these emulators.

For Yuzu:

Where is it located?
here: C:\Users\*YOUR USER*\AppData\Local\yuzu\yuzu-windows-msvc

Folder content:
[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] PBCXNTg

Where to copy it?
In the folder \emulators\yuzu of your Retrobat installation.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] JbnsKvN

To make Yuzu portable, you need to put the necessary files in \emulators\yuzu\user

For RyujinX:

Where to download it?
here: https://ryujinx.org/download  (version Windows)

Where is it located?
This is a .zip file, not an installer, so unzip the contents of the "publish" folder from the zip directly into \emulators\ryujinx of your Retrobat installation.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] U34m7TN

The \emulators\ryujinx\portable folder, as the name suggests, is used to make RyujinX portable.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [31] Why are some emulator folders empty?

You may have noticed that the folders present in \emulators\ are empty. Some of them, because the consoles concerned are still on the market (it's the case for the Nintendo Switch with the Yuzu and RyujinX emulators). For the MAME standalone emulator and Teknoparrot, simply because it would make the Retrobat setup much heavier (which is already more than a GB). For Pico8, because it's a paid emulator.

So it's up to you to download them on their respective websites, and to put them in the corresponding folders.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [32]Why do I get the message ? "WE CAN'T FIND ANY SYSTEMS!" or "It looks like your systems configuration file has not been set up or is invalid..."

- You have just installed RetroBat, and when you launch Retrobat.exe this message appears:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] NnVevfs

Obviously your installation did not go well, delete the installation folder, and start the installation of RetroBat again.

- Your Retrobat was working fine until now, but you still get this message.

There is a possibility that one or more Retrobat system files (es_systems.cfg) are corrupted, in which case you will need to redo a Retrobat installation.

But maybe you modify them. This is not recommended, we will not do any support if it does.

- If you see this message:
"It looks like your systems configuration file has not been set up or is invalid. You'll need to do this by hand unfortunately.
Visit emulationstation.org for more information."

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Vhp6oZ3

The Windows environment variable of your PC is probably "HOME" This Variable is not compatible with Retrobat.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [33] How to create a custom "es_system.cfg"?

Many of you want to annoyed us "tweak" Retrobat, especially when you want to add a RetroArch core or add a standalone emulator.

We strongly recommend that you don't modify the es_system.cfg file located in \emulationstation\.emulationstation\, because when it’s time for a Retrobat update, all your changes would be erased.

But if you are stubborn a real hacker, there is a workaround to prevent your changes from being destroyed after a Retrobat update.

Example:

You want to modify the Gamecube system.

Go to the \emulationstation\.emulationstation\ folder and open the es_system.cfg file within a text editor: Notepad or Notepad ++ (for example.)

And in that file, look for the Gamecube system:

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] 9fswJQO

As on the screenshot above, select the Gamecube system from the <system> tag up to </system> and make "copy" (right click "copy", or ctrl + c)

At the root of the \emulationstation\.emulationstation\ folder, create a blank .txt file and do "paste" (right click "paste", or ctrl + v):

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] U8nl9Tz
/!\ Don't forget to add <systemList> at the beginning and </systemList> at the end.

Close the file and save it.

Then rename to es_systems.cfg but add the name of the system at the end of the file name: New document text.txt becomes es_systems_gamecube.cfg

Now Retrobat will prioritize the es_systems_gamecube.cfg file for the Gamecube system.

You can therefore make modifications to this custom file, without touching the main es_systems.cfg file.

Note that BatGui.exe also allows you to create a personalized configuration in the "System" tab and then click on [FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Hgx3qB4

Respect the name: es_systems_gamecube.cfg

You can then select your custom file from BatGui.exe on system tab.

[FAQ] Retrobat [WIP] Ico2 [34] How do I add Cave Story to Retrobat?

This tutorial concerns the version supported by Retroarch, with the core "NX ENGINE"
The NX ENGINE EVO version does not work with Retroarch but like a classic Windows PC game, so to add it to Retrobat see FAQ n°1.

To add the Cave Story game Retroarch version (in English) you can download it directly from RetroArch, accessible from the system menu "RETROBAT":

MAIN MENU > ONLINE UPDATER > Content Downloader

The downloaded "Cave Story" folder can be found in \emulators\retroarch\downloads\

Place the folder Cave Story (en) in the \roms\cavestory folder

Then run RetroBat and in the System "CAVE STORY" (or "PORTS" if you have not ungrouped the systems in the collection options) you must hide the files DoConfig and OrgView:

and
