PC games that work outside of RetroBat, don't start in RetroBat

Have been using RetroBat for years. Now with a new PC, most of the PC games work fine, but some of the windows games start to load and then freeze. All of the games that freeze work fine outside of RetroBat.
The games that freeze all have a white rectangle in the upper left hand corner (see picture below). It never progresses beyond this and I have to use the task manager to stop the game.
My system:
Windows 11
AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS
AMD Radeon 780M
12 Cores
Any ideas?
