Retrobat 4.0 is compatible with "Mame64 Standalone", but is not provided as standard.

I propose you a build made by me of the version 0.232 of Mame, configured for 2 players (Xbox 360 pad) with generic Horizontal and vertical bezels and Crt-Geom-Mod as Shader.

You can use the version of Mame 64 you want (MameUI64, etc..), as long as the .exe of Mame is named "mame64.exe".

But you will have to configure the controls etc...yourself

You can download my custom version of mame64 on the following link:

https://multiup.org/download/489481a5a3fe0e45c7f5aa3ceec56956/mame64_0232_RetroBat_Edition.rar

Mame 64 standalone must be unzipped in the folder "\emulators\mame\".

Edit:

Or you can use this:
Code:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/15crc7p0f7jb30q/ArcCabView_MAMEUI64_0.245_BGFX_Chain_2.1.7z/file

C'est une version de MAME qui utilise ArcCabView BGFX.

Code:
ArcCabView BGFX_Chain 1.4a For MAME by Aubrel
(MOD of CRTGeom-Deluxe BGFX Chain by cgwg)

Here a new ArcCabView MAME BGFX shader chain release!!
- aperture mask code changed to match the grill and to look like our Reshade's Shader.
- support for 2x2 and 1x1 slot mask textures (auto switch)
- native frame display support (with and without curvature).
- screen reflection on frame added.
- frame size setting added (so you can change the frame image and resize according to the new one)
- curvature without CRT effect added
- better overscan support and offsets support added (so now you can resize and crop your games correctly
- many settings and details improved.
- native overlay image support added (from 1.1 the overlay image alpha value is exponential)
- improved brightness and black dots render (1.1)
- halation effect improved to catch the screen dots and to look more realistic (1.1)
- big performance improvement (1.2)
- brightness, contrast, halation, reflection and overlay adjustements (1.2a)
- half-curv & half-frame added for 2 screens games (1.3)
- small typo in reflexion code fixed, curvature effect settings slightly reduced (1.4)
- moire effect reduced, frame reflection contrast improved (1.4a)
...

- BGFX Chains presets :
- "ArcCabView_Dot" : it removes the alternate pixel effect
- "ArcCabView_ResX2" : it doubles the horizontal resolution
- "ArcCabView_Flat" : it removes the curvature, the frame and the overlay
- "ArcCabView_NoCurv" : it removes the curvature effect and the overlay
- "ArcCabView_NoFrame" : it removes the screen frame and the overlay
- "ArcCabView_NoCRT" : it removes the CRT effect (but the curvature, the overlay and the frame are still enabled)
- "ArcCabView_HalfLeft,ArcCabView_HalfRight" : for 2 screens games, it will do half-curv and half-frame on each screen (artwork examples included for darius2d and warriorb)
- "ArcCabView_xxxx" : special game settings with overscan and offsets already set (mostly here as examples, do you own ones for other games)

The pack contains:
- ArcCabView's BGFX Chain
- Some chain settings examples
- Some pre-configured ini for a few games as examples

As this pack is already "set" please do a clean install!!!!
The folder "artwork\ArcCabView" is requiered to get ArcCabView's BGFX chains working.

Here what you need to set in mame's ini files (when not already done) :

#
# CORE SEARCH PATH OPTIONS
#
artpath                   artwork

#
# OSD VIDEO OPTIONS
#
video                     bgfx

#
# OSD ACCELERATED VIDEO OPTIONS
#
filter                    0
prescale                  1

#
# BGFX POST-PROCESSING OPTIONS
#
bgfx_path                 bgfx
bgfx_backend              glsl
bgfx_screen_chains        ArcCabView

For me "bgfx_backend" set to "glsl" works really better than the others options.
For information the d3d9 bgfx_backend is broken with most CRT shaders (don't use it).

Enjoy!

Hi, as always thanks for the great work!

I downloaded your MAME64 package, but it is strangely slow in video and sound, even though my setup is able to run WiiU, Switch and Windows games like Asseto Corsa and GTA IV for example.
This problem is happening with old games like Street Fighter 2 for example..
Using the Retroarch core the same game runs normally.. is it the Mame64 filter that is so heavy?

My configuration:
Ryzen 7 3700H
16GB RAM in dual channel
I'm using the processor APU.

NOTE: I'm using the romset compatible with the Mame version, 0232, I downloaded it from Archive.org.

I use mame with 4 xbox controllers. The only setting i need for the controller to work on most game is to set the insert coin and start button. Here is the config that I use. Basically, put this file in the correct folder and your xbox controller should work.

After extracting mame in \RetroBat\emulators\mame folder,
create a \RetroBat\emulators\mame\cfg\default.cfg file with this content. You can mark the file as read only to prevent from being overwritten.

Code:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!-- This file is autogenerated; comments and unknown tags will be stripped -->
<mameconfig version="10">
    <system name="default">
        <input>
            <port type="START1">
                <newseq type="standard">
                    KEYCODE_1 OR JOYCODE_1_BUTTON7
                </newseq>
            </port>
            <port type="START2">
                <newseq type="standard">
                    KEYCODE_2 OR JOYCODE_2_BUTTON7
                </newseq>
            </port>
            <port type="START3">
                <newseq type="standard">
                    KEYCODE_3 OR JOYCODE_3_BUTTON7
                </newseq>
            </port>
            <port type="START4">
                <newseq type="standard">
                    KEYCODE_4 OR JOYCODE_4_BUTTON7
                </newseq>
            </port>
            <port type="COIN1">
                <newseq type="standard">
                    KEYCODE_5 OR JOYCODE_1_BUTTON8
                </newseq>
            </port>
            <port type="COIN2">
                <newseq type="standard">
                    KEYCODE_6 OR JOYCODE_2_BUTTON8
                </newseq>
            </port>
            <port type="COIN3">
                <newseq type="standard">
                    KEYCODE_7 OR JOYCODE_3_BUTTON8
                </newseq>
            </port>
            <port type="COIN4">
                <newseq type="standard">

        </input>
    </system>

[MAME64] Standalone Download link Empty Re: [MAME64] Standalone Download link

Post by Hagui 20/07/22, 05:21 pm

Hi.

I copy my roms into Arcade folder, and the Mame64 standalone on emulators.
Everything is fine, I just have a problem, when I bring up the mame menu, is missing the cheat option.
I have activated in settings of the emulator and the cheat.zip file is in the mame emulator folder.
I check in mame.ini in core options, and I activated cheats to 1.
Still is not there the cheat option.
Is there anything else that I have to do to have the cheat option in the mame menu?
Thanks for your help

Hi,
I don't know, Retrobart just runs mame64 and launch the games, it doesn't change the options.
