How update to 5.1

Hello,

first thank you very much, for keeping this project up.
I have installed version 5.0 and want to update to 5.1. Is this done by the update-function inside ES, or is there another way? Sorry if my question is rather silly, but i dont want to risk trashing my installation.

Hello, and welcome.

You got 2 ways :
- by updating from the stable channel
- by installing a fresh new version (https://www.retrobat.org/download/), then move from old to new (roms/ saves/ emulators mainly, but you got also themes in \emulationstation\.emulationstation\ and es_settings.cfg there.
