Anyway to put the roms on a different source?
How's everybody doing today? I'm new to RetroBat and so far I like it. I like the emulation station look of it.
I installed RetroBat on a 512GB SSD. However I have all my roms on a 4TB (disk based roms) and more. Do I have to have the roms in the rom directory on the C: Drive? Anyway to use a different path kinda like Plex when adding media?

Re: Anyway to put the roms on a different source?
Hello,
I don't know if there's a more correct way to do it. I've done it this way:
1) Back up the es_systems.*.cfg files from the [RetroBat Folder]\system\temperates\emulationstation location
2) Make a replacement of all files en_systems.*.cfg from point 1). Replace "~...roms" with the location where you have the roms. For example, if you place the roms in D:\RetroBat\Roms you would have to replace "~\..\roms\" with "D:\Retrobat\Roms\" inside of en_systems.*.cfg files.
(It is important to replace as I said because it discriminates the special routes as the configuration of external retrobat emulators. )
3) Rename the file es_systems.cfg from the path [RetroBat Folder]\emulationstation\.emulationstation to es_systems.cfg.bak.
4) Launch the RetroBat executable. Profit.
For the replacement, I advise you the program notepad++.
As I have commented, I don't know if there is a more elegant option to do it.

I use a simpler method. I use symlink. https://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension.html If you dont know what is symlink, its like shortcut for files.
Basically, I have my roms on nas. After install linkshellextension, i create symlink for all roms that I want in the original retrobat folder. Easy to manage. I can delete roms that i dont want in retrobat without deleting the original roms. i can have multiple emulator in different folder all share the same rom from nas.

Lorenzolamas and getupor like this post
I have tried to modify the es_systems.cfg file but whenever I modify it when starting the application it creates a new one, or I don't understand what I'm doing wrong
