Hello Retrobat officials. Will Retrobat switch to ES Desktop Edition in the future?

No, we will never do that. Our EmulationStation branch is more advanced than ES-DE for what we need. Theme engine with more possibilities, animation, emulators options integration, content downloader, etc, that ES-DE can't.

I recently heard the new version of DE supports scraping by hash tag or something along those lines that makes for better recognition when scraping as file name doesn't matter. I then thought DE was actually something good, didn't know that the version Retrobat uses is far more advanced.

ES-DE is good because is available on lot of systems (windows linux and mac)
But in my opinion the interest in using it if you are on Windows compared to Retrobat is really very limited, almost zero.

I probs prefer it to Retrobat these days.

The dev team aren't rude to me.

By asking you to put your videos as visible directly for the forum user, instead of forcing them to go on YouTube, is being rude ?
Maybe is the way for you to get more view on your YouTube channel, but this, we don't care. We care firstly about our users (and people who heard when we try to explain something to them).

By any case, we are not promoting RetroBat, don't ask for it, and just want to offer another way of emulation, to offer more choices in the existing solutions. People are then free too choose.

I will leave it there. Certain devs here know what I am talking about.
