[MODERARTION “don’t do this”] Fixed -> after upgrading TI-99 roms came under the "Mess"
Hi all,
I had the issue when upgrading to the latest Retrobat version that my TI-99/4A games came under the "MESS" category
(with a different background for the consoles).
To fix this:
go to C:\RetroBat\emulationstation\.emulationstation\es_systems.cfg
in the <name>ti99</name> section
Find: <group>mess</group> and change it to <group>ti99</group>
this should fix it and you will see a keyboard part of the TI-99/4A as background
Furthermore I renamed the fullname from "TI/99" to "TI-99/4A" and release "1999" to "1981" (PS. the older version Ti-99/4 was released in 1979)
<system>
<name>ti99</name>
<fullname>TI-99/4A</fullname>
<manufacturer>Texas Instruments</manufacturer>
<release>1981</release>
<hardware>computer</hardware>
<path>~\..\roms\ti99</path>
<extension>.rpk .zip</extension>
<command>"%HOME%\emulatorLauncher.exe" %CONTROLLERSCONFIG% -system %SYSTEM% -emulator %EMULATOR% -core %CORE% -gameinfo %GAMEINFOXML% -rom %ROM%</command>
<emulators>
<emulator name="libretro">
<cores>
<core>mame</core>
</cores>
</emulator>
<emulator name="mame64">
<cores>
<core>mame64</core>
</cores>
</emulator>
</emulators>
<platform>ti99</platform>
<theme>ti99</theme>
<group>ti99</group>
</system>

Hello,
This is NOT the way to do this.
In the Retrobat interface, just go to collections and ungroup the systems.
DO NOT TOUCH es_systems.cfg file

Hi Tartifless,
Thank you.
I did a quick look, but I will look into it tomorrow to learn and better understand how to do it and how it works
(it happened before long time ago that all TI99 was categorized under MESS somehow, the rest of the systems are all good after the upgrade).
Thank you.

Hi Tartifless,
Under game collection settings, systems displayed and de-selecting "Mess" fixed it!
Another question (also part of the es_systems.cfg)
Is there a way via the GUI to reconfigure the top left?
TI/99 should actually be named TI-99/4A
and 1999 should be 1981
