[RESOLVED] Error : object reference not set to an instance of an object
object reference not set to an instance of an object
I can't run any games. I keep getting the error I wrote above. I did not complete the installation. Is there anyone who has knowledge about this and can help me? I couldn't find the solution to this problem anywhere. I reinstalled 3 times and the problem still persists.

I have the same exact problem.
Same problem here on 2 computers using 6.2. All good after rolling back to 6.1.
It seems to be related to my PS3 controller, connected by DSHIDMINI + BTHPS3. When I disconnect the controller I can launch ROMS using mouse/keyboard.

Re: [RESOLVED] Error : object reference not set to an instance of an object
Hello,
This is related with the controller or a device connected that is not known.
If you disconnect the device it will work fine indeed.
We are unable to reproduce this issue on our side, we would need your logs.

Re: [RESOLVED] Error : object reference not set to an instance of an object
As far as I understand, the problem occurs when I plug in a gamepad. Games work when the gamepad is not plugged into the computer. Unplugging and reconnecting the gamepad doesn't work. It's annoying to have to play games without a gamepad plugged into the computer.tartifless wrote:Your 2 last posts are contradictory, which is it ?

Hi,
I have the same problem with 6.2.
Launching without my PS3 controller connected starts the game and produces this emulatorlauncher.log:
And then launching the same game with the PS3 controller connected produces this log file:
As someone mentioned above, it used to work correctly in v6.1.
Hope that helps the bug hunt.

As someone mentioned above, it used to work correctly in v6.1.
Hope that helps the bug hunt.

Re: [RESOLVED] Error : object reference not set to an instance of an object
Hello both of you.
Can yo, in your retrobat 6.2 installation:
1) Download the following file and uncompress it in your retrobat\emulationstation folder:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1oetHD-VcH_uf_bufQv3DbwfR687lpjSL&usp=drive_fs
2) Run a game again (it will still give you the same error)
3) Send us emulatorlauncher.log file again
This will help us understand where the error is by giving us more logs.
Regards

You have far too many controllers connected, one of them is causing the issue

Hello,
Try this fix :
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ofREDVypvye_JGfkpaggBUfdYd-5sApd&usp=drive_fs
As usual ==> decompress in retrobat\emulationstation

Re: [RESOLVED] Error : object reference not set to an instance of an object
Hi,
I can confirm that the fix worked for me as well, so thank you very much.
The fix did change my RetroArch language to French, but it was easily solved by hitting F1 to Open RetroArch pressing B to go to the main menu, and then selecting "réglagles", "Utilisateur", "Langue", and change "Français" for whatever language you want.
Thanks for the support and a great program.

Having the same error but just when launching 3ds games in any emu. Link to fix above is giving me a 404.

3ds games currently only work with bezels enabled, this will be fixed in next release
