I can't change RetroArch hotkeys and any other RetroArch option anymore!
Hey,
I tried to change RetroArch options generically under Retrobat menu but everytime I open a game all my RetroArch settings return to default.
I understand that there are many convenient options under Retrobat Menus but I want to change the theme of my RetroArch and hotkeys, how would I do it without loosing all settings after exiting game?
Please help me!!
Best regards,
Leo

Hello,
You cannot, Retrobat will set these values each time you run a game.

Really? I used to be able to make these changes, when did that change? I didn't like not being able to customize RetroArch, that's quite bad!

Menu driver has always been forced to ozone.
And hotkeys are forced with controller autoconfiguration

I was able to change it in the past, now I can't! Why limit people to config RetroArch as they want?
I love Retrobat but this internal design decision made me wonder if I like where it is going. Tell me a good reason why I have to stick with ozone if I don't like it or why do I have to use use the hotkeys defined by someone else! Anyways, thank you for answering my question, I understand that this is a project design decision and it will limit my hability to customize my Retrobat experience regardless if I like it or not.

Hotkey config has always been forced when controller autoconfiguration is enabled, since at least V4 of RetroBat, same for menu_driver.
You can set your own hotkeys, but they will be overwritten whenever you run a game with controller autoconfiguration enabled.
Menu driver can be changed, but you need to do it system by system by adding a line in the file file called es_settings.cfg located in retrobat\emulationstation\.emulationstation.
For example if you add the setting:
<string name="snes.retroarch.menu_driver" value="rgui" />
This will enable the rgui menu style when running a snes game in retroarch from RetroBat.

Hello
There are others gaming solution that allow you to do what you want, and only act as a launcher.
RetroBat don't work like that, as the integration are pushed to the limit.
In that way, all emulators behaviours remains the same (not only Retroarch, but also the 90 others emulators that are bundled into Retrobat).
In that way, you nearly don't have to open Retroarch.
