fresh install of retrobat (on fresh install of Windows 10 Pro) won’t launch
hi! i thought I’d start a new thread as I didn’t see any answers to the last time this question was asked in 2022.
This is a brand new install - nothing configured. BatGui launches fine and I even installed RPCS3 on the side and can get in-game no problem.
How do we troubleshoot this issue? I don’t an error from Windows or any RetroBat log file.
I’m on an iMac 2017 4k on Windows 10 Pro N (all latest updates as of Aug 6, 2024). RetroBat v6.3
I installed all the prerequisites during the install process.

Hello,
What's the cpu inside these ? Xeon, core i5 or core i7 ?
Did you also install Intel graphics drivers (up to date) ?

check you task manager make sure you dont have a retrobat.exe process that is stuck, kill it if its there. if you do have a retrobat.exe in your processes then you wont be able to launch another instance until its gone. this has happened to me a few times, not sure if its your issue.

Re: fresh install of retrobat (on fresh install of Windows 10 Pro) won’t launch
I figured this one out and it was what I suspected.
I installed the “N” version of Windows hoping it would reduce the bloat and it turns out it creates more headaches than it solves.
Retrobat assume Windows Media Player is installed to play it’s splash video. I’ll file a bug report on GitHub to check for this during installation.
Good news is we’re in!
