Update issue. Empty Update issue.

Post by wtstreetglow 11/10/24, 01:47 am

Hello all,

Could someone help me figure out out to fix the subject?

Essentially when I go to the updates and downloads menu: check for updates is on, update type is stable. When I click update, it says "working", then pops up "no update available"

But when I look at the bottom of the main menu it says "RETROBAT V6.0.0-stable-win64". It also still says this after a restart.

Can someone help me figure out how to get the update process to work properly. I'm hoping not to mess up any of my setup and do it in a safe way.

Thank you all for any help you can provide!!

Ok, adding more information to this strange situation.

I actually just downloaded a fresh version of stable 6.0 from github and installed in another folder on my pc as to not mess up my current setup.

I got the same results on this just installed version when trying to update (same behavior).

I imagine I am missing something about how to update v6.0 stable to a higher version, or at least I hope I am.

Thank you all again for any guidance you can give me on troubleshooting/ getting this going.

@tartifless
So this will work for 6.0–>6.3.1?

Also, when I move this file to the proper directory, do I go ahead and double click it to run it before starting retrobat with retrobat.exe.

Last night, I believe I tried this (but never double clicked the .cmd to run it as I thought the system would run the .cmd file during run time as part of its programming)

Thank you for anymore guidance you all can give.

I will give this another try tonight based on your responses.

Just replace the file, and then in retrobat, on stable channel, check for update

Dang, that sucks. Def did that exact process. I’ll try again tonight though and report back using the exact link you provided.
Thank you for all of the help you have given me here on this one and in the past. Very appreciative.
