Windows cannot find 'gamesemulationRetro'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
Hello,
Before i install the new version from the start in the same directory (bcs for some reason i cant update via gui, says no update available) i have this problem
every time i make a move in gui, like go up in selected menu emulators or in emulator move up, down, enter
I surely remember installing some theme or intro i dont remember and after that i get this error
Windows cannot find 'c:\games\emulation\Retro'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
but i cant find to fix it.
Any help
Thank you

Hello
Firstly, to repair the update function on RetroBat :
- Download the file es-checkversion.cmd (on the open page, right-click > save as...)
- Save the file on the folder \emulationstation\ and replace the existing one
- Start RetroBat
For the other installation, seems that the folder name isn't correct

The other installation covered from the new one. As i say i install the new one in the same folder of the old one.
But the problem remains. not for the update but for the error message

you have renamed all the folders. It's normal that Retrobat doesn't find nothing...
Make a new fresh install, and you will see how it should be.

also, it could be better to place it at the root of the disk, some systems doesn't like too long paths.

As aynshe stated, the issue is the space in the path

Hello,
Delete the space for \Rétro Bat, and put it as the original \RetroBat
Do you have a script in emulationstaion\scripts ?

As for the space the retrobat runs for almost 3 years like this without any problem and even now runs just fine but somewhere have this parameter and in some cfg file and creates this problem
No i dont have any new scripts except the retrobats.

In any case, you currently have a problem, and it comes from outer space.

you have right about space but it is not Retrobat's problem.
It is the extras like the above i mention and another one i find "Koko AIO"
this dont like spaces. But i think it is easy to fix programmatically just add "" in paths

This is not our code, also some emulators like xemu will not work with paths with spaces, and we do not develop emulators or these addons.
The easiest fix is to not use spaces in paths, which is a bad practice in computers in general !

So you had a script. In reference to my initial question.
The script may be looking for the RetroBat root folder or may not actually expect spaces in the full path, so "Retro Bat" is causing it a problem.
Either remove the space, or contact the script dev to see if he can add a method for spaces.
