Gamepad acting crazy X button detected as hotkey button?

Hello, I have an XBOX series X controller, I mapped all the buttons, I set SHARE to be the hotkey button.
I expect it to behave like this: https://wiki.retrobat.org/navigation/hotkeys
But it doesn't Holding X and using the d-pad saves states or sends me to RetroArch quick menu depending on what direction I press.
I re-mapped buttons several times I triple checked the mapping is correct.
Also on the games list the options do not correspond with my buttons. A/B are inverted also X/Y are inverted on the text instructions at the bottom of the screen.

Basically it's a nightmare to use, particularly I can't play cos it saves many states all the time.
This is my first day using retrobat.  

EDIT: I tried leaving hotkey not assigned it still saves states with X+d-pad

As we advise, you should avoid special button as hotkey.
Better map select for it. As it's a special function, it always act in combination with other key, so there will be no problem.

Hotkey isn't mapped.
Share button isn't used.
