How to add video snaps manually

Hi Everyone,

I have some roms that has no video snaps after scraping.

I am trying to add the video snaps manually with the correct naming convention as shown below:

C:\RetroBat\roms\zxspectrum\images\007 - Live and Let Die (Europe)-image.png
C:\RetroBat\roms\zxspectrum\images\007 - Live and Let Die (Europe)-marquee.png
C:\RetroBat\roms\zxspectrum\images\007 - Live and Let Die (Europe)-thumb.png
C:\RetroBat\roms\zxspectrum\videos\007 - Live and Let Die (Europe)-video.mp4

The images are being displayed but, the video snap that I have added manually does not play, the same issue with other video snaps that I manually added.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Hello!

I've already found the solution to my issue.

I've found out that I need to edit the "gamelist.xml" metadata and add the missing videos manually.

But, is there a way to automate this for hundreds of missing videos that I would like to add?

Guys!

I would like to let you know that I've found a third party tool how to automate the adding of video snaps.

There is a tool called "Gengal" at https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/9486/gengal-gamelist-xml-generator/53.

Gengal will edit your existing "gamelist.xml" and add the missing video snaps.
