Nintendo Wii Xbox One Controller / Gamecube stutter / GX4000 Games not loading
Hi there
I'm still working on my ultimative Retrobat Drive :-) First my PC setup:
CPU: Ryzen 5 1500X, 4 Cores, 8 Threads, 3.5 GHz up to 3.7 GHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 1070
RAM: 16 GB @ 2400 MHz
Display: LG OLED CX 4k with 120hz
I just have a problem to bring Wii Games to run or let's say controll. So is it possible to play Wii games only with an Xbox controller? The game starts but I can't control it. Even if I select "Simulate Wii Remote", I cannot use the controller. Is there anything special that needs to be considered here?
I play Nintendo Gamecube on Default Settings (all on "Auto") in 4k Resolution. Every now and then stutters occur. Could it be because the resolution is too high or should my PC setup have enough power? Or can the stutters also come from the core setup? I use the default settings here (everything set to Auto). As soon as I activate "Frame Skip", the games no longer start? Do you have any ideas?
No matter what I try, I can't get GX4000 to run. I also use the default settings (everything set to Auto). But the games do not start? I get into a kind of "DOS" menu and have to type in a command? Or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for your help guys!!
I you need more details let me know, thanks!
best
Thanks!
Best

Hi,
Simulating a wiimote does not mean that we can play with a classic controller directly.
It is possible to create profiles to simulate wiimote actions, but that does not concern a lot of games, and it is a bit complicated to do.
Yes it is surely a problem of power, but if it does the same in 1080p, it is surely a problem of settings.
You don't tell us which emulator or core you are using.
If you are using the Dolphin core, change and use the Dolphin standalone emulator instead, is more efficient. (look at the FAQ)
i haven't tested the GX4000 for a long time, but i had no problems.
I will test if I have time.

@lorenzolamas
Many thanks for your support.
So in other words it's not directy possible to use a classic controller with Wii.
For Gamecube i def will try a lower resolution first. I first thought that the resolutin is something like upscaled. But when its a native resolution my setup is probably to weak.
Thanks for checking out GX4000 - i also never played it but i would like to try it out...

You can create or find ready-made profiles on the internet.
For example, to simulate the movement of the wiimote in Donkeykong country returns.
and add a specific profile by game:
