Thème Forever

Bonjour,

Je vous présente ci-dessous le thème Forever.



Un thème très personnalisable qui utilise au choix des logos graphiques ou textes, ce qui le rend en mode texte à jour à jamais et permet également d'utiliser autant de collections que vous le souhaitez.

Le thème est multi-résolution puisque qu'il utilise un max de tuiles et de vecteurs, il assure jusqu'en en 4K.

Notes:

This theme use no system dedicated artworks, no dedicated graphics logos for "forever" carousels. This will make this theme will be functionnal on future Batocera or Retrobat versions and with all your collections.

Characters illustrations are in .svg (vectors), backgrounds are tileables, logos are in text. This make this theme always display at maximum quality in your screen resolution (4K UHD 2160P include).

A customization system is include to easily use your logos, backgrounds, musics and videos. Custom logos from Carbon Theme by Fabrice Caruso are preinstalled. (https://github.com/fabricecaruso/es-theme-carbon)

Readme files are in each folder in CUSTOMIZE/.

At first installation, defaults options made Light Raspberry Mode is On. You can desactivate for better graphics if you have a powerfull machine.

Options:

Gamelist view style:

Basic, detailed, video and grid views are functionnal.

Gridview style:

Choose between boxes, carousel and coverflow views.

Sounds:

Choose "Arcade Room" to play arcade room ambiance sound. Choose "By system custom sounds" to play a different custom song in each system. Choose "Custom Jukebox" to play your random music collection. Choose "Lehcim Collection" to play selected musics from Retro'arts Theme. (https://github.com/lehcimcramtrebor/es-theme-retroarts)

Theme music is in CUSTOMIZE/music.

By default, Batocera musics are pre-installed for Retrobat users in "CUSTOMIZE/music/jukebox/", you can delete them and put yours.

You can customize your theme music with your ".ogg" or ".mp3" files, in "CUSTOMIZE/music/jukebox/" for jukebox mode or in "CUSTOMIZE/music/" for by system.

**Examples:**

Put your normal music collection in "*CUSTOMIZE/music/jukebox/*" (*ladygaga.mp3* etc..)
and this will play in jukebox mode all your songs if  you select "Custom Jukebox" in theme configuration menu.

Put files named by system theme ( *megadrive.mp3, snes.ogg, nes.ogg, mastersystem.mp3* etc..)
and this will play songs by system if you select "By system custom sounds" in theme configuration menu.
Logotext fonts:

Choose between many fonts to display systems in wheels.

Logo Decorations:

For now in Emulationstation, it's not possible to use Logotext and Logo image in same time, so i have made fix backgrounds logo. System logos will move on this background. You can choose style and color, or desactive.

Carousel:

Choose Jukebox, Vertical or Wheel in 3 modes, Arcade custom wheel or "My wheel".

"Forever" jukebox, vertical or wheel display systems in text format needed for use with logo decorations.

"Simple" jukebox, vertical or wheel display system in text format correctly with general theme background.

"Custom" jukebox, vertical or wheel display your custom logos.

"Arcade custom wheel" display your custom logos in a arcade style wheel. (with much logos on screen).

"My Wheel" is for advanced users, display a carousel you can customize in "CUSTOMIZE/custom_carousel/my_carousel.xml"

To customize your logos, put files named by system theme in ".png" or ".svg" format in CUSTOMIZE/logos ( 3do.svg, gx4000.png, atari2600.svg etc.. ) and choose CUSTOM jukebox, vertical or wheel.

Carbon theme's logos are preinstalled. You can change all of these.

Cabinet:

Choose different colors for arcade cabinet.

Cabinet label:

Choose text font style for cabinet marquee. ( display system name ).

Character:

Choose vectorial character illustration, display at left of screen.

Colorset:

Choose general theme colors, will affect logos text, menus and differents parts of your theme.

Choose "My custom colorset" to use color you can customize in "CUSTOMISE/colorset/my_colorset.xml". See Read_me file.

Background:

Choose 50+ tileables backgrounds.

Theme style:

Choose between 9 styles:

-"Background" will display background in full screen.

-"Forever syle" will hide backgrounds and display forever style xml layers.

-"Forever background" is a mix. display "Forever" layers and backgrounds.

-"Custom Full Screen Videos" will display your full screen background videos in systemview and gamelist view , see *CUSTOMIZE/full_screen_videos_background/* Read_Me file.

-"Custom Videos + Overlay" will display your full screen background videos in systemview and gamelist view  with "Forever layers", see *CUSTOMIZE/full_screen_videos_background/* Read_Me file.

-"Custom Videos + Strip" will display your full screen background videos in systemview and gamelist view  with horizontal band, see *CUSTOMIZE/full_screen_videos_background/* Read_Me file.

-"Custom Full Screen Videos + Strip" will display your full screen background videos in systemview and gamelist view with color strip , see *CUSTOMIZE/full_screen_videos_background/* Read_Me file.

-"Outrun Grid" will display outrun grid video in background ( full screen ).

-"Outrun + Overlay" will display outrun grid video in background like "Forever background".
Screen Effect:

Choose multiple CRT's or TV's static effects to display on arcade cabinet screen. In "Forever" theme styles, this will affect right frame on screen.

Video Effects:

Choose multiple video effects to display on arcade cabinet screen.

Focus:

Bright down background to focus on first plan by fading.

Overlay + Themed Cabinets:

Choose style of your overlay. You can select overlay + cabinet, this will overwrite cabinet choice to display themed cabinet ( examples: mortal Kombat II, Marvel, Pacman etc..)

Video ratio:

In all views, choose between original video ratio or stretched. For example, a vertical arcade game in streched mode will display in 4/3 full screen, in original mode it will display at original vertical format in middle of screen.

Transparency on Gamelist

Choose plain or transparent layer behind gamelist.

Custom logos on marquee

Choose "No" to not display custom logo on cabinet marquee. this will display default text system label.

Choose "Yes" to display custom logos on cabinet marquee, with background layer (usefull with themed cabinets).

Choose "Logos only" to display just logos (usefull with simple color cabinets).

Cabinet game's marquees

Identical to "Custom logos on marquees" but for game's marquee in gamelist views.

Custom logos always on gamelist

Choose yes to display custom logos in upper scrren before gamelist when you use Logo text wheels.

Raspberry light mode:

Choose to have a lighest theme, this will remove all shadows, simplify "Forever" style layers, use 1080P cabinet and others assets unstead of 4K.

Tested on Raspberry Pi 3B+, litte less smooth than carbon theme but useful.

When this mode is active, not working options are marqued with *.

More customization is possible, like cabinet, screen frame or illustrations by system.. see CUSTOMIZE/ folder and each Read_me file.

Salut lehcim,

Hier soir j'ai testé ton thème, j'ai essayé de nombreuses combinaisons, tu as fait un travail remarquable .

Cet aprem j'ai changé de thème, puis je suis revenu sur le tient, et j'avais perdu toute ma personnalisation .

Est il possible de conserver la personnalisation de ton thème, pour la retrouver ensuite ?

Concernant les collections, j’ai fait des images au nom de mes enfants qu’il faut mettre dans le dossier \CUSTOMIZE\logos\ du thème que l’on utilise, du coup si on change de thème on a plus les images.
Est il possible pour toi d'aller chercher les images des collections que l'on crée dans \RetroBat\emulationstation\.emulationstation\collections\ ?

C'est là que se trouve le fichier custom-prénom.cfg, ainsi ca permettrait d’avoir toujours les images quelques soit le thème utilisé et tout ce qui concerne les collections que l’on crée serait regroupé.

Salut, non comme tous les thèmes, le code xml est lu dans l'ordre.. le seul moyen de garder sa personnalisation est d'intervenir directement dans les fichiers xml.. simple pour un averti, mais c'est mieux de ne pas toucher pour un débutant.. les options sont définies dans le theme.xml comme des subsets sous la forme:

<subset name="...".....>
<include name="A".........
<include name="B"..........
</subset>

par défaut le thème démarrera sur A, si tu inverses la ligne A et la ligne B le thème démarrera sur B..

OK, du coup si je veux sauvegarder ma personnalisation, je peux faire une copie du xml AVANT de changer de thème, puis quand je le reprend, je quitte retrobat (pour sauvegarder), je remets le xml sauvegardé précédemment et ca va fonctionner ?

Non pas du tout le XML ne change jamais.. ce que je t'ai écris avant c'est une manière de prédéfinir la configuration par défaut, rien ne sera jamais sauvegardé ou que ce soit..

Pour la question de STF.34, la personnalisation se fait au niveau du es_settings.cfg de EmulationStation, le fichier se trouve dans le dossier emulationstation\.emulationstation. Il n'est pas prévu d'avoir plusieurs config possible (càd changer de thème et retrouver l'ancienne quand on revient sur l'autre thème personnalisé) pour le moment.

As tu une raison that custom changes applied don't persist once a theme is changed from UI?  Anyway to make it persist?

No matter what I do , change theme it reverts back to default donkey kong...

Wait for retrobat 4.0. Will come with emulationstation function that save theme parameters.

you should re-dowload theme i have updated last days, i've added all logos for 4.0 and i added "appliesto="system,basic,detailed,video,grid" for some subsets" for change illustrations or cabinet by system.
