I've searched it all over the internet and I have no clue about how to set my gamepad to save/load states.

Any help is welcome

You have to hold select\hotkey and the save button on the controller which is different according to the system you are using. You can consult the manual in install directory.

My installation and manual location is: C:/RetroBat/emulationstation/.emulationstation/notice.pdf
