yuzu is not loading at random times

Hello,

For the pass few days I observe that at random times when I launch a switch game in retrobat (switch game list), yuzu won't load/Ui is not showing up. it is stuck with the static image of the game launched on emulationstation and  there is nothing happening even if I press start and select to go back.

in able to return to emulationstation/retrobat menu, I have to stop the process in task manager but the weird thing is, yuzu is not in the processes tab. The only yuzu process I can find is at the buttom inside the user's tab of task manager. this is really annoying to end task every time this happens

Have you test what happen if you start Yuzu directly, without Retrobat ?

yes, it starts normal this only happens inside retrobat.

Ok, so it could mean 2 things :
- the install in Retrobat emulator folder isn't totally correct or
- you have define a setting in Yuzu that you haven't reproduce on the Retrobat menu

actually I did a full wipe (PC factory  reset) and full reinstall and only two things are installed right now A.) Retrobat B.) Yuzu, two days ago but this same problem occur yesterday.

I am very sure that the folder structure inside retrobat and emulators are correct.

also the settings in yuzu are all default. same goes with retrobat.

You have to add some screen of the concerned folders showing their path (specially \emulators\yuzu\ and \emulators\yuzu\user) if you want that we help you.

This logs shows that yuzu.exe was correctly launched everytime

Thank you for checking, maybe something with the Vsync or graphics in yuzu? i press 4-5 times and then it launches correctly

also maybe good to add pad2key, because of CTRL-Q and Enter to return back.
(Start-Select does not work to exit)

We will not add pad2key to yuzu which is a console, it does not need it.

If select + start does not work, it can mean that you did not set your hotkey properly in retrobat

@globeron what monitor are you using? if you are using a 4k TV try changing the dpi of yuzu exe to high.

also are you running the latest build of yuzu?

The hotkey issue is solved (in the yuzu emulator at Emulation > Configure > General > Hotkeys
Exit Yuzu (CTRL+Q  and Home + Minus),  then reconfigure the controller hotkeys (e.g. pressing Select + Start) displays Minus + Plus.

At Emulation > Configure > General > General
Confirm before stopping emulation:  Never Ask

(this is not a Retrobat update related issue) It might be a windows update causing it
Yuzu is randomly start/stop (before getting into the emulator) also happens when directly opening it. Latest version 1734 and older versions act the same.
There is video "How to Fix Yuzu Crashing Randomly on Startup", but so far does not solve it.
and some other advise like re-linking to mapped windows share folders is not fixing it.
TV is 1920x1080, tried normal/high DPI, but it is the same behavior, will troubleshoot some settings.

Clicking 3-5 times suddenly starts the emulator.

Also in Windows Graphics Settings
* (add yuzu.exe) and set to "High performance"
* and at default settings, turn on the switch for Optimizations Windowed games

update, it seems to be fixed by:
changed the yuzu.exe properties (run as administrator,  disable fullscreen optimizations and compatibility mode windows 8, but it slows down the emulator)
(turning off compatibility mode still gives the random start/stop issue).

I found at another forum to remove in add/remove programs the Compatibility pack for Vulkan/OpenGL. That solved the random launching problem of yuzu, suyu, etc.
