Screen Flicker/Flashing

Retrobat 6 appears to break something. Every 30 seconds or so, the screen "blacks. I tried turning off Vsync, but the problem persist....how do I fix?

UPDATE: When it "flickers", I also lose audio....it comes back with the screen.....

UPDATE:  It does appear to be a driver issue: when i had to roll back, the issue disappeared. Latest INTEL ARC drivers don't appear to be compatible

UPDATE 3: The issue persists...latest driver doesn't work properly in full screen mode; seems to flicker every 10 seconds....

Bad cable ? Driver issue ? Too old hardware ? Screen refresh rate / resolution issue ?

None of these...Constantly update, the refresh rate is unchanged...ONLY occurs with Retrobat, hardware is less than a year old.
