Crash to Desktop on Startup on Windows 11
Hey guys, I'm in need of a little help here.
I just finished setting up Retrobat on a network drive, I have 3 PCs, 2 with Windows 10 and 1 with Windows 11.
On both Windows 10 machines I can launch Retrobat perfectly from the network, however on the Windows 11 machine it shows a thin white line on a black screen (like a loading bar) and then crashes to desktop, right on startup, with no error message.
I checked the logs in "RetroBat\emulationstation\emulatorLauncher.log" and "RetroBat\emulationstation\.emulationstation\es_log.txt" but there seem to be no entries (last launch attempt was at about 16:00 and the last logs are from 14:20).
This is es_log.txt:
2024-11-15 14:23:06 ERROR System "mess" is missing name, extension, or command!
And this is the last block of emulatorLauncher.log:

This launch is from one of the Windows 10 machines where it worked, but nothing on the Windows 11 machine. I used the Windows 10 machine for the initial setup if that helps.
Also I tried installing MSVC2013 x86 redistributable as described here but no luck. Also this is on Retrobat 6.4.0, the latest version.
Any idea where I could start troubleshooting this?
Thanks in advance!

Hello
It could help if you give some informations about computers specifications.
Also, you can try to install this all-in-one and also DirectX, as describe here

Re: Crash to Desktop on Startup on Windows 11
Hey there! Thanks for your reply! I installed the AIO and DirectX but no luck, still the same issue.
The computer I think won't be the issue, it's an i9 13900k with 64GB RAM and a 3080Ti. Unless maybe some incompatibility? Anything else that can give you some clue?
It's weird that we get no logs though right? At least the startup should be getting logged?
