Retrobat wont start any emulator

loads games and when i click the game it stay with the game thumbnail fullscreen till i press ESC key
error happened loading a snes rom

I came here looking for a solution as I have recently encountered the same issue. No emulators will launch now and I'm not sure what caused this. Did you find a solution?

Okay, not sure why or what the issue is but, if it helps anyone with the same issue... I had a backup of Retrobat on another drive and found two missing files in my non-working version. They are in the Emulation Station folder in the plugins subfolder:
plugins.dat3256
plugins.dat3260
Restoring these two files fixed the issue for me. Again, I don't know how or why or how these two files went missing but this is what fixed it for me. Hope it helps someone.

It can be a lot of things. An incomplète installation, an antivirus which is too weak...
You can try also with installing on another direction. And don't forget to install prerequisites files (see here
