A BIG Thank You for RetroBat!
Hello
Since more than 2 decades I'm on emulation "scene" (if I can call it like that). I've been doing retro compilations (or updating these) with Gamebase, Launchbox, CoinOps, RetroPie. I've found RetroBat a week ago and I'm very impressed with automations, that don't require edit of 'retroarch.cfg' (which is not so hard for someones, but for others may be a little big harder). I'm gonna exit from CoinOps community and join here. Not because I have something against CoinOps, but because RetroBat is just GREAT! And I think it can be even GREATER (matter of time).
I would like to THANK YOU for all involved in RetroBat development. Also will donate in near future, because the project is DEFINITELLY worth of support.
P.S. Sorry for finding Retrobat few years later than it's beginning. I was blind. Forgive me, please
cheers from Poland

Re: A BIG Thank You for RetroBat!
Hello Dax and welcome on board.
Thanks a lot for your kind words!
Usually, experienced users don't like that we overwrite the cfg files, but it's really the best way to make the emulation friendly for all. With an unified interface that allow all (or nearly) customisation.
So if you understand our aim, it's a bit a victory
In any case, don't hesitate to share your thought about RetroBat, about features that could be missing.

Hi, getupor
I understand and respect Your "aim". I'm gonna learn of RetroBat to be a little bit smarter than I'm for now
Those "experienced users", instead of crying (and don't understanding that You make access to emulation in better/simpler way) should do a copy of original compilation or at least critical files (except ROMS directory), to eventually replace "Your edition" with "own edition" after every update. But crying is much simplier for someones, so let they cries and You do own/GREAT job

Best way is to use the corresponding menus. If the feature is withdrawn, it's because it exists in RetroBat. If not the option will not be changed.
In any case, the wiki is a great source of knowledge, and we are nearly every day's on the discord to help if needed

Re: A BIG Thank You for RetroBat!
The most probably You are right, but I've found something that may needs some change (sorry if it is my blindness and it is possible to change RetroArch function mappings in any "Retrobat GUI way")
Example: Amiga game - Deluxe Galaga. Impossible to disable music in one channel (to hear shots in game) by pressing F8, because this key is mapped to create screenshots. It's possible that similar situation is possible in other games and other keys, mapped to RetroArch. I've mapped CTRL key as special button, but F8 does not require CTRL to create screenshots.
Would be good to remap keys of these RetroArch functions:
input_state_slot_decrease =
input_state_slot_increase =
input_load_state =
input_save_state =
input_pause_toggle =
input_hold_fast_forward =
input_rewind =
input_screenshot =
If it's too much of complications in code or we should use virtual keyboard - I'll understand

Re: A BIG Thank You for RetroBat!
I figured out that Scroll Lock does not work for me (tested on two computers with Win'10) - example game in Amstrad CPC: Fruity Frank, where uses have to push F, M or S (game speed). Although removed shortcut to execute Cortana. As for now I can live with that (still moving/configuring own compilations and games from CoinOps Collections to RetroBat) for a while, until I still can run such games through CoinOps. It affects also other systems, when user have to answer by keyboard, but maybe "Scroll Lock thing" works perfect and it is a problem only for me
But the main reason I came here today is to say that I F**K'N LOVE YOU, GUYS! For RetroBat
Have a nice day!

Re: A BIG Thank You for RetroBat!
Using Intel 14900K, DDR5, nVidia graphics, Win'10. No custom keyboard mappings, only shortcut to Cortana disabled.

Do You know where is option from the screen (above) named KEYBOARD FOCUS ?
Using the newest RetroBat. Tried to find it weeks ago and now is the same - I can't find it
Re: A BIG Thank You for RetroBat!
In which system are you ?
If it is available for the system it is in advanced settings > controls
SELECT > ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS > CONTROLS

Re: A BIG Thank You for RetroBat!
Alrighty, now I understand the logics. KEYBOARD FOCUS is available for some systems, but unavailable for others. Available for Amstrad CPC.
I've figured it out. You wer right! Scroll Lock key does not work like it should. probably some default mappings. Used Microsoft PowerToys, remapped Print Screen key to Scroll Lock and IT DOES WORK! I can't believe that is was so easy. Thank You very much!

Re: A BIG Thank You for RetroBat!
Yeah, and by default Scroll Lock key works like shortcut to Cortana (WIN+C) - nothing messed up with keyboard rom or settings, it's by defaulttartifless wrote:Yeah strange k10 keyboard does not have any combo for scroll lock ...

Cheers 4U for Your time!
