Installation and Config Options
Hello,
I love RetroBAT, thank you for all the work you have put in it.
When you run the installer of RetroBAT 3.1, you have 3 options:
Can someone give us a clear explanation for what the following setup options mean ?
What differences do they have? and when to use each one?
Why do the have different render paths (GL,GLCORE,D3D11)?
Why there is no a vulkan Option? Can I change the default render path through the ini ?
When installation finishes there is a retrobat.ini file. Inside there is a option ConfigMode=X. What is this ? What are the options ? And what it changes ?
I checked that it depends on what option you selected during installation..
A couple more questions..
* why do FinalBurn Neo Core does not use the selected Filter set? I cannot make it to load any shaders. When I go manually and select a shader (from RetroBAT\emulators\retroarch\shaders) it works as expected but nothing is saved.
* when option "Batocera USB" (ConfigMode=4) is selected ,emulationstation will ignore many romsets. It does not show arcade romsets as an example.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Installation and Config Options
Hello,
Options you select before setup can be changed at any time after it by editing retrobat.ini
It mainly concerns the es_systems.cfg template used and the list of emulators available to selection in EmulationStation.
The default installation is D3D,ANGLE and is related to ConfigMode=3 in retrobat.ini
It allows to use retroarch angle which offers better support and performance with d3d and vulkan video driver.
The "restricted" setup (libretro, opengl) should only be selected for older hardware not compatible with d3d and vulkan (ConfigMode=2) and just ommits retroarch angle in emulators selection and vulkan as driver.
ConfigMode=0 is to disable the files check when retrobat is launched and to enable edition of these files. ConfigMode 1 is not used for now.
Batocera USB (ConfigMode=4) use roms and saves from a batocera usb folder setup instead of RetroBat folders when RetroBat is installed next to a batocera folder (such as e:\batocera and e:\retrobat).
With the full setup you can select retroarch angle with vulkan driver.
For some core, filters may not appears correctly if the core is not associated with the proper video driver (and vulkan should be selected in most case to fix this).
You can select video driver by system or by games directly within ES menu or submenu and globally by editing retrobat.ini at DefaultVideoDriver value (so DefaultVideoDriver="vulkan" to use vulkan globally).
With the next update, things could be slightly changed.

Re: Installation and Config Options
