Retroarch configuration Empty Retroarch configuration

Post by Copperleaf 09/09/21, 04:11 pm

I been using Retroarch for years (PC, retropie, Batocera). I like to have the hotkey as select and down on the d-pad for exit, left for load, right for save, up for toggle fast forward etc etc...My configuration keeps getting deleted. Is there a config file like on Batocera (batocera.conf) that I need to put these changes in? I love Batocera's solution so I'm assuming and hoping its a similar set up here?

Hello,
As specified in FAQ n°8 ( https://retrobat.forumgaming.fr/t135-faq-retrobat-wip#1282 ) you can find the Retrobat user manual.
The hotkeys are predefined following a survey of users and it is not possible to change them.

I hope you guys can consider that some of us don't want to be forced to use a specific set of hotkeys when we have it set up differently on another devices. So I'd like to suggest giving us the option to put in the retrobat.ini (similar to the batocera.conf) code:
Code:
global.retroarch.input_toggle_fast_forward_btn = "11"
global.retroarch.input_exit_emulator_btn = "12"
global.retroarch.input_load_state_btn = "13"
global.retroarch.input_save_state_btn = "14"
global.retroarch.input_menu_toggle_btn = "6"

etc...etc

Thank you

Seconding this. I would love some optional configuration like the batocera.conf file. It would be invisible to users wanting an easy experience, and perfect for those who are particular with their hotkeys.

You can satisfy everyone by letting them choose to override the default hotkeys. Batocera's implementation is great. If you guys do it as well...everyone is happy.
