[RESOLVED] 8Bitdo Controller (XINPUT) Initial Main Control After Startup

Was wondering if this is normal (controller will not function unless we use the mouse to click anywhere on the screen) after the initial startup of Retrobat.

Here's what we do to launch Retrobat.

1. Click on the Retrobat Icon.
2. Retrobat launches to the main system consoles screen

However, the controller will not work unless we use the mouse and click anywhere on the screen. Then and only then will the controller work and we can move around and select menu options and or enter games.

Is there a setting that we have missed or is this normal after the initial launch?

What is your resolution ? Does it match your screen resolution ?
Could you check with BatGui ?

Opening BatGui, the screen resolution was set to

Windows X Size: 1680
Windows Y Size: 1050

Which matches with the computers display resolution exactly.

Following up on this, anything else we can look at to get Retrobat to be the main window focus?

I had a similar problem.
I solved it re-enabling the video intro. For some reason if I launche retrobat with no intro it wouldn’t focus.

You can actually set a very short time for display and then it will load and focus the retrobat window
